I can’t wait to be back at the Stone’s Throw! Darlene and Joe are incredible, so accommodating and welcoming. Their Bed and Breakfast is beautiful, quiet, private and clean. Darlene made us a delicious breakfast and helped us get sorted for the day. We can’t wait to be back!

I had the most fantastic week at Darlene and Joe’s B&B! I was visiting my friend in Georgetown and she highly recommended Stones Throw so that’s where I stayed for my week long visit (Sept 10-17). And let me tell you it did not disappoint!!! From the warm welcome by Darlene and Joe and, of course, Misty to the incredibly comfy room with great private bath to the scrumptious breakfasts each morning. I was travelling on my own and I felt very safe in my room which did have a private outside entrance which was perfect for my evening returns. Having the bar fridge just outside my inside door in the hallway was ideal. It was stocked with a variety of cold drinks and there is a Keurig there also so you can make your own coffee, tea, etc. when you would like.
Let me tell you about the breakfasts – first off if you leave hungry then that’s your own dang fault. As I was there a week I had a grand variety of options to try out. There was always a hot beverage at the ready, fresh muffins and loaf breads made by Darlene along with the best granola I have tried – homemade by Darlene. Both Darlene and Joe were great company, made you feel right at home and shared a lot of laughs. And if you needed a little doggie loving well Misty sure fit the bill. They were a wealth of information about things to do and places to go and would help you out with suggestions and ideas that would keep you busy for a month I’m sure.
Towards the end of my stay Hurricane Lee was winding it’s way up the east coast but as with all PEI’ers they were well prepared in the event of anything happening and reassured me I would be quite safe under their care. They had the generator all gassed up, tested and ready to go if need be and requisite amount of storm chips, snacks, etc. stocked up just in case. Thankfully the hurricane petered out by the time it reached PEI so there were strong winds and rain but nothing of much concern in their area.
Georgetown is a lovely town with lots of great people who care about their community. You have a lovely park to wander around, a boardwalk along the water to stroll, a Playhouse with a variety of events happening, a yummy bakery and couple of local artisans with fabulous creations.
I will certainly be back and will definitely stay at Stones Throw again!!!

Stones Throw is a wonderful bed & breakfast located in a perfect spot in Georgetown.
I’ve been fortunate enough to stay there twice within a 10 month period. After spending a four day weekend last fall I returned again this summer.
Darlene and Joe are great hosts. Not only are they warm and welcoming but
are very knowledgable about the area and PEI in general. They are both extremely friendly and always happy to provide insight. On my last visit I watched Darlene help other guests plan their day each morning while providing a customized breakfast.
The room itself is beautifully appointed and kept in immaculate condition. For those guests like me who have a thing about cleanliness, it is a great feeling to step into a spotless room. Also having an entrance into the home as well as external entrance is a bonus.
Another plus, while sitting on the front porch you have a perfect unobstructed view of boats in Georgetown Harbour as well as beautiful sunsets
Georgetown itself is a very quaint laid back place. Even though I spend my days touring around the island it’s nice to come back to quiet little town and have a relaxed evening. I always leave feeling rejuvenated.
I highly recommend a visit to Stones Throw bed & breakfast.
Thanks Joe and Darlene for the wonderful times. I definitely will be back in the future.
Darlene Harris –
Thank you Alison. We love having you and hope we see you again next year. Just an FYI we had to buy more Haskap Berry Jam!

Quaint little B&B, with new and squeeky rooms and ensuite bathroom. We appreciated the private entrance to our room and the quality of the breakfast menu! Many thanks to Darlene for her warmth and consideration to our needs and requests. We strongly recommend!

Stone’s Throw was by far the best accommodation that we had on PEI. Darlene and Joe were unbelievably welcoming and full of information. We felt like part of the family and very much at ease with our hosts. The room was very clean and had all that we needed. We so looked forward to fresh fruit, homemade muffins and a hot entree every morning. An added bonus is that Darlene loves to bake! They really thought of everything. Will send others your way for sure. Thank you guys again!

Our first visit to PEI & Georgetown did not disappoint. Our first experience staying in a B&B too and it was awesome. Room/linen were clean and had all the modern amenities. Darlene & Joe made us so comfortable, breakfast was great. Loved the home baked goodies. They gave us loads of info on where to dine and shop. Great hospitality. Will definitely recommend your B&B.

My 8 yr old daughter and I had the pleasure of being hosted by Darlene and Joe over two nights. Hosted may not be the right word, because they treat you like family, very warm and welcoming, and absolutely wonderful people, helping you out with anything and everything, including any random query or worry you may have. Their place and the rooms were just recently built and are basically new and exceptionally clean. The food is amazing too. I am sure we will return in the future, thanks for everything Darlene and Joe. I very strongly recommend!

This was my first visit to PEI. I was looking for rest and relaxation and Georgetown did not disappoint. Everyday we visited a different beach, went hunting sea glass, ate the most wonderful food, shopped in the most unique shops and if you are looking for a sunset… check out the beach front! Darlene and Joe were wonderful hosts and the food was amazing, the rooms were cozy and super clean and the shower!! Fantastic!! I’m looking forward to my next visit to Stones Throw.
